Sungai Lembing->Awana Kijal

Main objective: Rainbow Waterfall
But...unfortunately we had a change of plan as it was raining that morning...

Journey started late morning on Friday...3 cars and 1st meeting point, Petronas station after the Bukit Tinggi exit.We stopped at Bentong, Terence's hometown for lunch. Every of our trip is not complete without a new food experience. Famous here is the Yong Tau Foo.We were treated with dessert at a local ice-cream house that serves home-made ice cream.It was pouring along the way to Sg Lembing. We stopped at Kuantan and had our first encounter with a cute doggie...named Fifi.We reached Addy's hometown in the late afternoon. It was the first time I see a dragon fruit yard across Addy's grandparents' house where we are going to put the night. Here, we had our second encounter with another cute doggie, named Ah Kau??We strolled towards the bridge connecting both sides of the river. Sg Lembing started out as a mining town decades back. Now, there are no more mining activities, just a small quiet town.Then, it's BBQ time! Famous home marinated lamb and pork, grilled to perfection (after few attempts->refer to CY's blog) and tomato sauce mee...Delicious...The night ended with UNO session...It was only 5am when the alarm went off the next morning. But sadly, it was raining. So, while waiting, we had UNO session again...Yes, early in the morning. We waited and waited until we fell asleep again. Decided to call off the plan when it rained heavier.

Breakfast was at a local coffee place. Noodles, Yong Tau Foo and 'san sui' tau foo washed down with thick local coffee...Great food to start the morning.We walked to the local museum, enlightened ourselves with the evolution of the small town. Being adventurous, we trekked our way on a small stream towards a mini waterfall. Water is crystal clear and we had some foot reflexology walking on the stones.We had the chance to see some entrances to the abandoned mining shafts.Then, we made a stop at a temple. And we entered a 15-minutes walk along the body of a dragon...Funny thing was we entered via the tail (butt la).It is believed that it will change your luck, and I really needed that this year. Encountered some really wild and angry geese and a lost clueless guy...Our trip continues to Awana Kijal later in the afternoon. On the way, we had KFC at Teluk Cempedak. The 3-room apartment at Awana Kijal is big and we got 2 apartments thanks to Terence. The beach is breathtaking but towards both end it is a bit dirty. Really hope to see some work carried out to clean the beach and it will be perfect.Took a long walk on the warm sand. Relaxing moments.Early the next morning, it was disappointing not able to catch the sunrise because it was too cloudy. But eating cup noodles as early as 6.30am on the sand is a new experience. Had a stroll along the beach again. I had my first tennis lesson here at Awana Kijal. Though it's a bit tiring picking and running after the ball, it was worth my RM 10. After bidding goodbyes to the sandy white beach, we headed for lunch at Kemaman, well known for the stuffed crab. On the long journey back to KL, we had the chance to taste the homemade ice-cream in Bentong again.All in all, it was a fantastic trip and we had fun. And we got a chance to play with cute little Ezel.
