Izzi

Attracted to the 50% promotion for Citibank card holders (only if you spent above RM100 in a single bill), we went to Izzi after 2 movies....Quite hungry by then. I would say the food is only quite good. Tasted some better macaroni and chicken wings before. The pizzas are nice though...as well as the spaghtetti carbonara and the Chocolate Pleasure...

The environment
Cheese dough
Asian platter
Spaghetti carbonara
Cheese baked carbonara
Pizza
Chocolate Pleasure

What do you do....

What do you do when you are idling around after a dinner in the Golden Triangle area?
Walk into any Dome, Starbucks, or Coffee Bean and do some 'people watching'...Hehe...A good use of time.

That's what we did after 2 movies, back to back (Harry Potter and Die Hard 4.0) and a dinner at IZZI.

Finally, get to taste the new item on their menu - Espreski...Tasted good but the chocolate chunks tasted funny.

All that's jazz.....

Lots of pics...lot's of beautiful people...a great performance from Buddy Loren...and the bands...what more can you ask from an Annual Dinner .....errrmmm....better food maybe?

The menu was very interesting:

The food presentation was very inviting: (pic courtesy of Kenny Ooi)
(pic courtesy of Kenny Ooi)Sadly, it didn't taste as good as expected.

But, the night was great.

Stage settings.....
Pretty girls...(ahemmm) and boy (ahem ahemmmmm)

And funny expressions.....

The night ended without me winning any lucky draws... :( but still, it was a night to remember.....

MLTR

Mention the name Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR), some first reactions I received are they are so old and so nostalgic...Despite that, we found ourselves at Arena of Stars (8pm on 14th July) to watch the group which now comprises of singer and keyboard player Jascha Richter, drummer Kåre Wanscher and guitarist Mikkel Lentz. The seats that we bought (RM93) was very near to the stage and we had a good, clear view....
The show started of quite bland with not much response from the crowd....I was thinking that it's going to be boring if it's like this for the whole show. It was just the warm up songs (newer hits, which not many people know)...After the third song, MLTR began to belt out hits after hits- 'Sleeping Child', '25 Minutes', 'Out Of The Blue','Paint My Love', 'Wild Women'...Yes, all of my favourites.
By this time, the crowd was screaming and singing along. I personally liked it when Jascha ask the crowd to sing and the music went off. You can hear the crowd singing their lungs out and it was a great feeling. He even stepped down from the stage and the fans were screaming wildly.
It was surprising to see many young people (around our age- still can be considered as the younger generation, right?) there. A lot of uncles and auties as well and they really know MLTR's songs.
I truly enjoyed it. No more regretting not going to Emil Chau's concert (which has Victor Wong and Nicholas Teo as guests)....MLTR still rocks!!

Sometimes when we touch - Dan Hill

You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
I'd rather hurt you honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you
On what you say or do?
I'm only just beginning to see the real you

*Chorus
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you til I die
Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides

Romance and all its strategy
Leaves me battling with my pride
But through the insecurity
Some tenderness survives
I'm just another writer
Still trapped within my truth
A hesitant prize fighter
Still trapped within my youth

*Chorus

At times I'd like to break you
And drive you to your knees
At times I'd like to break through
And hold you endlessly

At times I understand you
And I know how hard you've tried
I've watched while love commands you
And I've watched love pass you by

At times I think we're drifters
Still searching for a friend
A brother or a sister
But then the passion flares again

*Chorus

(this song can make me cry when listening to it. very meaningful lyrics)

It has been a couple of busy weeks...

It has been quite a few busy weeks.
Had netball match last weekend. Prior to that, had practice for almost every day of the week. But sadly, we lost. But the most important thing is we have the spirit. My first time trying the PowerBar and PowerGel...tasted bad but hey, it effective. Did not feel tired easily.
Followed by Jogoya outing the next day for our team's good performance.....Had a great culinary outing. Someone even ate too many oysters resulting a toilet visit immediately after that. Eeeewwwweeee....How can you even swallow the raw, juicy (yuckY), slimy oysters?
I have been going to the gym in the office since I do not dare to go jogging alone anymore. Have been timing myself for the run in August. And I had my first unofficial swimming lesson....Hmmm...let's just say I failed my first lesson....Can't even learn how to float...:(
Went to Bukit Gasing again.....Watched two movies this weekend. Eventful two weeks I would say.
Many more to come...Will be busy building up my stamina.

Well, movies I have watched (without review due to errrmmmm....laziness?) since the last movie review:

Catch and release
Meet the Robinsons (love the OST by Rob Thomas)
Wild Hogs (Wild Hogs rule)
Duplex
Spidey 3
Shrek (kicking ass princesses?)
Pirates of the carribean (can't get enough of Jack-still my favourite character)
Ocean's 13 (Brad Pitttttt)
Alone (still Shutter is the best)
Transformers (a really MUST watch....totally dig Bumblebee)
