Of Easter, Ching Ming and F1

Today is Easter Sunday. Christians around the world observed Holy week since last Sunday, starting with Palm Sunday, then Good Friday and today, Easter Sunday. It's a remembrance of the resurrection of Christ, which his followers believe occurred on the third day after his death by crucifixion.

This week is also the Ching Ming week, observed by the Chinese. These two weeks, we can see people thronging the graves of their ancestors, cleaning it and burning offerings to the departed. It's really amazing seeing all the paper offerings nowadays. Everything we have in the real world, we can find a paper replica of it to be burnt. From handphones, branded clothes (yes, they do have GUESS, Crocodile), accessories, tech stuff...you name it, it can be done.

Whatever festival it is, it does serve the purpose of bringing the family together....

No offense to F1 fanatics out there. But I really do not understand what's the pleasure of spending money and bearing the hot sun, just to watch fast cars zooming past when you can watch it in the comfort of your living room, and not to metion having a clearer view of the circuit? Guess, it's the same as why I would spend an amount of money going to Lee Hom's concert when I can watch it on DVD....hehehe...

Anyway, I am not a fan of F1. As much as I would like to learn to love it, I can't feel the excitement in it. Well, just heard that Fernando Alonso won the Malaysian Grand Prix....
