Prison break - Finale
OMG...I can't believe it's over and I can't believe they made the ending sssssoooo crappyyyyy.....WTH...Taiping Lake
Once upon a time, monkeys ran wild all over Taiping lake. Adult monkeys and baby monkeys wandered freely.

It was such a lovely sight until......the lake was invaded......by

In Memorial of Lucy 1996-2009
Today might me any normal day to anyone. But to me, it's one of the saddest.
At about 1pm, Lucy passed away peacefully. I called home a little after 1pm and my mum told me the heart breaking news. I can't hold back the tears and cried a while in the office gym's toilet. Lucy was having a bloated stomach and refused any food since few days earlier. Yesterday, I didn't manage to sleep well as she was breathing hard just outside my room's window. And she could not even stand up anymore. Wanted to call the vet but my mum objected. She wants Lucy to go naturally and peacefully.
I spent some quiet time with Lucy this morning. Wiping her body and her eyes. Telling her to take care but honestly in my heart, I prayed for a miracle. But somehow I knew that would be the last time I touch her. We all knew it's almost time.
This is the cruel fact of life.
My mum said she doesn't want anymore pet because the hardest part is when it's time to let go. I kind of agree. My eyes are swollen from the crying now. My heart aches when I look out and the familiar figure that has been there for 13 years is not there anymore. No more Lucy to welcome me home everyday, no more Lucy to in the house when there is thunder, no more buying her dog meat and biscuit. I will deeply miss all these. I will deeply miss her.
Love you always Lucy and hope you have had a great life with us. I appreciate your companion and loyalty. And most of all, the joy you brought us.

Simple life
There is so much to blog about Siam Reap but it will not be the same if depicted in words.
If there is an opportunity, I would very much like to go there again. Spend more time understanding the rich ancient myths and history, to experience the way of living there and to learn the culture.
A few days there made me realise that I actually took a lot of things for granted. The children seemed so happy even without bare neccessity like clothing and proper education, let alone have the pleasure of toys.
And yet, I still complain and feel that I do not have enough. But then this is the nature of huma beings. We tend crave for more.
I am quite proud of myself lately. I refrained myself from buying things that I do not need. I can still be happy without that extra new skirt or dress. I can still be satisfied without that new notebook or that new handphone I am craving for.
But, two things I can't resist - nice food and facials...Sigh~~~
Well, live a simple life and you'll realise that you'll be happier.

A Place Called Here
'We all get lost once in a while, sometimes by choice, sometimes due to forces beyond our control. When we learn what is it our soul needs to learn, the path presents itself. Sometimes we see the way out but wander further and deeper despite ourselves; the fear, the anger or the sadness preventing us returning. Sometimes we prefer to be lost and wandering, sometimes it's easier. Sometimes we find our own way out. But regardless, always, we are found.'

colours of the rainbow
rain drops + sun ray = beautiful rainbow
we saw 2 pretty rainbows on the way back today. combination of beautiful colours, clearly visible across the sky.
reminds me of the rainbow we saw over komtar in penang, reminds me of one of my fave song by jay ('cai hong'), reminds me on how lucky we are to witness this captivating work of nature.
remember how we used to draw rainbows when we werestill in kindy (well, at least for me la...)?
the Bible relates rainbow as a promise from God that there won't be another flood after Noah's. i remember reading this when I was young.
everytime i see a rainbow i will secretly make a wish that the person beside me will be happy and he/she enjoys it as much as i do. and today i got to make 2 wishes for that same person.
nothing makes me happier to know the one I love feels the same.

Rocking night...
It was definitely a show worth paying for.The concept revolves around a comic hero - called Music Man with his weapon 'Bahamut', a dragon shaped guitar specially flown in from Ireland. This is who Lee Hom wished to be if he is a superhero. His mission? To save the music world. The crowd was roaring even before the show started. The atmosphere was real high and when he appeared, the crowd just went wild.
And this lasted till then end of the show.
No joke.
At the end, we were all standing up on our chair.
EVERYONE was so high.
Moving our bodies to the last few songs he belted out.
I can't remember all the songs in sequence. I was too mesmerized at some points that the world around me seems to disappear. It's only him on the stage.
I started admiring him and his songs about 3-4 years ago. Through these few years, I listened to his songs when I was stressed. They gave me inspiration through some bad times and accompanied me everynight when I was on the graveyard shifts few years ago.
People might gossip about him. Which artist is spared from rumours? The way he put Chinese and Western elements together (chinked out), it's really something different and brave to do. Salute to him.
It was sad that such an awesome night has to end. But I am sure there will be another rocking night again. Keep up the good work, Lee Hom.
**Suddenly, I have this obsession to learn to understand each of his song. Yeah, I know my Mandarin still sucks...:(**

Food Review:Pork Noodles, Jalan Imbi
Corner lot which sells hot from oven Siew Pau s. Well known for it's pork noodle + pork porridge.

Simple breakfast, satisfacton guaranteed. You can have it dry or with soup. As usual, dry is still my choice anytime. Comes with soup + pork balls and 'siew chu cheong'.The coffee is just the way I like it. Thick, full of aroma and best of all-not too sweet.

updates?
Not much inspiration to blog lately. Might be too caught up with work. New take-ons, new projects and the pressure to perform is overwhelming. But as the management ALWAYS mention-worklife balance is important. NO work after working hours but yet I find myself not complying to that.
I've finished my exams but still have to start on my final project. Shit...I better start working on it.
Went to Bali a couple of weekends ago. It's my second time there and I still find myself very much in love with that place. *and I secretly wish to be back there for a relaxing honeymoon*My fave place is still Uluwatu (sans all the aggresive monkeys). This time round, enjoying the view with someone I love is a different feeling all together. I wish we can spend more time there. Just sitting by the cliff and listening to the sound of the ocean below. *dreaming*
I've been a little bit obsessed lately TRYING to lose weight. I've no idea why I gained so much. I eat moderately and if I am to cut down on food, I won't be eating anymore. I jog almost 5 times a week. But yet I am still gaining. Yes, it could be muscle but then what about the extra fat around my waist? *stress*Sigh...Must must must do more sit ups...
On a lighter note, I will be seeing Lee Hom again this weekend...Wooo hooooo....and the next weekend I'll be off to see one of the seven wonders of the world...And after that, it will be my first run of the year-15km some more...KNS...I've not run much lately, just the occasional jogs in the morning/evening. Hopefully, I will complete it smoothly.
Till then, live life abundantly...:P

Lee Hom @ Solaris
After almost being crushed like sardin in a can, finally finally finally, got up close and personal (well, ok maybe not personal) with him...Yes...none other than Lee Hom...Music Man himself!! I was secretly hoping that there will be less people this time round as Solaris, Mont Kiara is not so accesible but how wrong I was. The huge crowd of fans were wild and full of excitement. At one point, people started pushing and went almost uncontrollable. After much huff puff and sweat, finally got his signature. BUT...the feeling is not the same as the first time I met him. Gosh...am I really getting old and this phase of idolising an artist is almost over? I didn't feel the excitement and that kind of rush anymore. :(

But nonetheless, I still admired him. Music Man.., we'll be there.

On another note, Solaris is really pretty and cool...

I love Lucy
I had many many many many pets before. Since young I grew up loving the stray dogs and cats at the back of my house. I still remember coming home from school sometimes and go straight to the backyard to play with the puppies. I had endless supply of puppies because there was a female dog that we named 'Pak Kao' (white dog -as she has white fur) which gave birth many times a year. Those were the days before I got Lucy.
Lucy has been with me for more than 10 years...She came from my sis's friend. I still remember the first time we saw her, together with her brothers and sisters. I knew instantly that she is the one. She stood out from the rest, not only because she is white but she is the tiniest of all. First few weeks of taking care of her was not an easy feat. She was very tiny and quite weak. We fed her milk from baby bottle and when she was strong enough to eat on her own, we gave her bread soaked in milk. She has small appetite, even until now. She barely finishes a bowl of rice sometimes.

She barely finishes a bowl of rice sometimes.
Lucy never caused any trouble. During teething, of course she did damage a few shoes and chewable things. She is not exactly the most mischievous dog but she has her own fair share of mischief. She likes playing tug-o-war. She will go crazy whenever you throw a cloth at her and started tugging. Most of the time, she wins. One of her weaknesses is she doesn't know how to avoid moving vehicles. She got us chasing madly after her when she got excited and ran out. But after a few 'coaching' sessions, she doesn't dare to do that anymore.
Everytime we were about to go out, she sat and stared at us with sad eyes. And when we came home, she jumped happily as if she hadn't seen us for a long time. Lucy seldom barks at strangers and therefore she cannot be a good watchdog. Oh ya ...Lucy is extremely scared of thunders and firecrackers. Every Chinese New Year, she will spent half the time inside the house and this drives my mum up the wall.
But as of late, she doesn't do those things anymore. She moves slower now. No more tug-of-war, no more jumping around. I've been spending much time with her. Her breathing seems quite unstable at times. She's old but I know she has lived this 10 years happily. I am spending more time with her nowadays as I know there won't be another Lucy for me. She might not understand but I am grateful she has brought many happy moments and memories for the past decade.

Earth Hour
There we were at 4:30pm at Cap Square on 28.03.2009 to support Earth Hour.
Yes, it might be a publicity stint, it might be a hyped up event but nonetheless, it's still first of its kind in Malaysia. The crowd started to gather to collect the limited edition T-shirt about 5pm. It started to drizzle but fortunately, the clouds cleared up just before 6:00pm. After much waiting and loitering, TV host, Joey G...the handsome one...kick started the event. He did a great job as the host of the night. Fun and energetic.
The Walk of Hope started at 7:30pm after some marching band and cheerleading performances. It was an enjoyable 20 minutes walk around Cap Square. Met some TV hosts like Gary Yap, Belinda Chee and some well known figures in the entertainment industry like Yasmin Ahmad, etc. Buses and cars showed their support by winding down their windows and honking. At 8:30pm, we witnessed KL tower went dark, followed by Twin Towers. With darkness all around, the candle lights made a beautiful scene. It was an experience to remember.
For those who missed it especially CY), make sure you'll be a part of this event next year.
On another note, I am all out for energy conservation and saving mother nature but I must admit also that many organisations took this opportunity to make profit. So the best way to save mother nature still comes from each individual. Use less paper cups in the office (bring your own cup), re-use those plastic stirrer, do not print unless necessary and recycle used paper. If everyone plays a little part, it will make a big difference. http://earthhour.org.my/

I wish...
Currently reading and enjoying :

I wish I to have the courage like the author. One of my dream destination is South Africa for the safari. The author tells on her journey to Zambia and all the adventures she went through. Loved her detailed observations and wacky way of writing.
And thanks to the special friend that gave me the 'book thong'. You are right - 'A friend is someone who reaches for your hand but touches your heart'. Thank you my friend.

When life gets tough...
When life (or rather, work) gets tough, I can't do nothing but to psycho myself everyday. I know I can't complain. There are so many people jobless or on the brink of it. And yet, I am just expected to perform but the biggest problem is I can't find the motivation to do so. The only motivator is ...well, MONEY (I am sure this is the common thing with most employees). Sigh...I broke down and cried that day (and had my dear worried sick about me). I can feel the pressure. Not because of the workload but the expectations from the top. It aint' easy being a staff. So much different from last time.
I missed the time when going to work used to be fun. When we were sitting at that corner, talking and laughing loudly. I guess everything changes with time.
Talking about changes, we spent the whole Sunday walking around Mid Valley and I didn't even get myself anything. First, it's because I am on saving mode (really....). And then, I realise, that I am more picky and choosy nowadays. Does this comes with age? And that's not all. The most frustrating thing is, the items (be it clothes or shoes or bags) I have my eyes on, are blaaaardy expensive. Damn it...-_-".

Lessons from the slum...
Slumdog Millionaire does not appeal to me when it was first opened in the cinema but due to all the publicity and all the attention it received from the Academy Awards, I can't contain the curiosity on what is so great about that movie.
I guess people nowadays like to watch something real (as in all the reality shows popping up), something that shows the daily lives of other people.
The movie depicts the life of the poverty stricken community in Mumbai where the children roams freely without enough to eat let alone have the privilege of education. Many begs but most will steal and cheat their way for some food. I've witnessed something similar in Delhi itself. It was not as bad but I've saw children begging and knocking on cars' windows at the traffic light.
I remember one incident when a little boy kept following us. He offers to polish my colleague's shoe with a small fee. He was very persistant, so my colleague decided to just give him some rupees but he refused. He said that he must earn his money and insist in polishing shoes before receiving the rewards.
I've been brought for a tour in the older part of Delhi. I've been in old streets, tasted roadside stalls and witnessed the lives of a normal mid-income family. It is so much different from what we are having here. We can learn more actually by witnessing all these. We tend to take things for granted. We tend to complain when we face some obstacles. We tend to grumble when things don't go according to the way we wanted it.
Anyway, back to Slumdog, the movie is not bad actually. Go watch it if you haven't...

It's here!!
I was hoping
Knowing me...and my kan-cheong-ness, I made sure I got the tickets first hand by regularly checking the forums. When the news was released, I was so excited (I know u don't understand why, my dear)...The VVIP tickets are much too expensive for me (in saving mode now) so I opt for the second most expensive. Anyway, I will be waiting for 02.05.2009 to come...
I was praying
that the date will not be coinciding with the trips to Bali and Cambodia.
I will be VERY DISAPPOINTED and VERY ANGRY and VERY SAD and VERY FRUSTRATED if it is.
One of the most anticipating event (aside all the trips) is finally confirmed.
