May ending

As we welcome the 6th month of the year, have we stop to ponder, what have we accomplished 5 mths into 2008? Personally, I feel that I have learnt a lot and learnt nothing at all. I feel like I have done a lot and yet done nothing at all. Weird feeling right? There's so much more I wanted to do. Hopefully, the next half of the year I will be able to accomplish these things. This month, I've been to my second overseas trip this year. To the quiet, serene and calm Krabi in Thailand. It was a crazy, wacky trip. Other than that, much time is spent sitting in front of the PC->watching series, reading/ studying (kns, exam almost ONCE A MONTH) and doing assignments. Oh ya and I watched a few movies this month in the cinema. I also conquered Batu Caves for the first time in my life this month. :P Few loops and my legs were already wobbling. My mum is beginning to nag that I am not spending enough time at home on weekends. I will spend more quality time with them. Promise.

What an ending...

Wicked wicked way to end the season and I loved it...
And which girl can resist someone like him?
Grey's Anatomy has ended its season, so has Supernatural - with that cliffhanger episode...damn..., and so has Smallville...And I've finished Six Feet Under finale season...I like the ending.
Yes, this is what I have been to when I am at home doing nothing...:P
Yes, I admit - I AM A TV SERIES ADDICT.

Food Review:Jalan Ipoh Yong Tau Foo

Even after several visits, I realise that I still do not know the name of this shop in Jalan Ipoh. So, I decided to do a bit of research. And how ironic! The name is Jalan Ipoh Yong Tau Foo. LOL. Anyway, the food here is comparable to Ampang Yong Tau Foo. I am not a big fan and almost all Yong Tau Foo taste the same to me. The fried Sui Kow is big and full of filling though. Price is RM 0.80 each piece. One famous dish here is the fruit rojak. The paste is quite nice for KL standards but of course it cannot be compared to original Penang's fruit rojak. We tried the Grilled Tau Foo and I liked it. Crispy and the grounded nuts adds to its flavour.

David Cook rules!!!!

A bit of a shocker, as many predicted DA will win based from the final 2 performances but DC is crowned as the 7th American Idol just moments ago!!! The split between the votes are 44 and 56 for both David and that's quite a big difference. All in all, I love David Cook....Keep rocking!!!

What is happening in the world nowadays?

Claimed about 34,000 victims, it's unbelievable the power Mother Nature possesses. First a cyclone in Myanmar and now an earthquake in China. And the impacts that these disasters bring are just as bad. Health issues, diseases, hearthaches and mournings of the departed (especially small children). I just can't imagine the situation there. Let us do our little part to help these people.

What happens in Krabi

Starring:
Double A agents - Agent A1 and A2

Agent 003 - CY

Agent N and Agent S

Agent 008 - FL

Agent 009 - KF

With cameo apperances:
Si Tompok the 2nd (bigger, shorter and fatter)

The cute little '8 poh chai'.

Mission: The eat as many pork burgers as they can find

Plots: With lots of water above (rain) and below (Crystal Pond, sea), our agents set off to accomplish the mission.
Baring their long legs in skimpy swim suits and trunks,

they trekked through the forests, jumped into Crystal Pond,

explored some caves (and met up with the old wise monk),

braved the high waves to James Bond Island (where they shot one of the previous film)

and did some heavy rock lifting.

Along the way, they had some pretty rough action scenes-in the boat,

in the van,

in the room and with the bath robe (picture censored as this blog is rated U),

in the airport,

and even up in the air.

Ending: Mission accomplished and with lots of beer...

Just see the happy and satisfied faces of Agent N and Agent S.

Marley

Tears welled up and I could barely read through the lines of the book. I have no idea that reading a book can make me feel so much about the bond shared between human and animal. Flipping through the last pages, my eyes have swollen up from all the tears. I don't know how I will dealt with it when the time is up to Lucy. I don't think I have the courage to face it. I will treasure her from now on.
Marley and Me by John Grogan is really a great book. It's a true story of a journey of a Labrador. I can feel the energy of Marley when he was just a puppy and the pain he was going through at his old age. To all dogs lover, get a copy and feel the love and loyalty as the story unfolds.

Ironman and the memories...

I've been staring at the screen for a while now. I do not now how to begin this entry. Hmmm...Have you ever experience that at the mere mention of certain things/ certain names/ certain places will remind you of someone? So, what inspired me to write this entry? Ironman.

I am not a big fan of this superhero comic by Stan Lee. I was introduced to Ironman years ago because someone special to me back then is a big fan. Sitting in the cinema, watching the movie just now reminded me of that someone special. He likes Ironman a lot.

Back then I just don't see why. I mean, what is so great about a man in iron suit? Bulky and clumsy, if you ask me...But after watching the movie, I have a different perception of Ironman (Robert Downey Jr is amazing in potraying the role of Tony Stark).

Anyway, back to topic.

Well, I do still remember that someone special. He was part of my life years ago. Just that fate is not with us. I will always treasure the time we spent together (and it's a long time). I was looking back at pictures of my first trip abroad to New Zealand and my mind is flooded with those beautiful memories. I am grateful to have spent it with that someone special.

Maybe in our past, we have handled things the wrong way and thus, the crack between us is too wide and deep to be amended but it does not matter now. All that matters to me is to know that someone special is living well.

And I know that someone special is waiting for this day when they FINALLY make a movie about Ironman. Hope he will enjoy it as much as I did.

We can make a difference

Hi friends,

I've signed up as a volunteer for Worldvision and hopefully will be participating in the 30-hour famine camp this year. For those who are interested to be a volunteer for Worldvision, please visit the site. Together, we can make a difference. We can make the world a better place.

A moment of silence

Let's take a moment of silence to remember all the 20+ thousand victims of Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. My heart goes out to the family. Pray for those who are still missing.

April

This post is late again. Well, no one to blame but myself. Yesterday night, I was supposed to:
1) study for another exam next weekend
2) prepare materials for the assignment due end of the month
3) write this post
BUT all I did was : FINISHED A NOVEL (The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella)!
I was so engrossed with it that I practically sat and read till past 12 midnight and here I am, 7 am in the office. I finished the book in just 2 days. More on this book's review soon.
Back to this post, the fourth month of the year has passed. This month has been busy busy busy as well.
1) Exam and assignments early 2 weeks of the month.
2) Orange run (9km) - my first run of the year!

(try to spot me in the picture above)
3) Olympic Torch Relay Fun Run (5km).
(cool pic, right? but body of man or woman??)

4) Bidor Half Marathon 2008 (10km).

(the girls who ran in Bidor...:P)
5) Adding another 2 earring holes...(more to come).
6) Received a really bad announcement at work- nothing more I can do BUT I know everything will be fine. Need to start planning.
7) Completed a book by Sophie Kinsella- The Undomestic Goddess.

8) Fell deeply in love with David Cook.

(you are the best)
